    Description

American Silver, the Work of Seventeenth and Eighteenth Century Silversmiths.
    By John H. Buck & R.T.H. Halsey.
Published by Joslin Hall in 1990.
A facsimile reprint of the catalog to the historic 1906 exhibition. This exhibition was the first to be devoted exclusively to the work of American silversmiths and was of great importance in generating interest in the work of American Colonial silversmiths. It also provided valuable information to scholars and early collectors, and the enthusiasm that it generated was in large part responsible for several important subsequent exhibitions. But more than that, it began the tradition of elegant design for silver catalogs. Engraved designs are reproduced, and inscriptions are set in italic type.
Softcover. 7"x10", 100 pages, plus 30 black & white plates. Fine condition.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR OVERSEAS BUYERS, PLEASE NOTE:
SHIPPING: To comply with Ebay’s policies, all packages are shipped using recorded/trackable methods and you should check the postage quotes before completing a purchase. Our International shipping charges are based on the weight, when packed, of each package -we offer “combined shipping charges” for orders for more than one item –this often means the shipping cost for the items is less than it would have been if they had been purchased and shipped one at a time, so please ask us for a shipping quote if you are thinking about buying more than one item. Thanks!
CUSTOMS CHARGES: Your post office may impose a customs charge on your incoming package, we have no control over this and no information about it, please check with your post office for more information. It is against U.S. law and Ebay rules for us to lie on the customs form about the value of packages, please do not ask us to do this.
